One of the Rules of Composition is SPACE. Space refers to the placement of the subject within the frame. In this lesson you will arrange your subject to create depth in the composition. You will also learn an interesting cloning technique to create an interesting narrative photograph.
Assignment # 1 - Skill Building: This assignment is where you develop the multiplicity technique we discussed in class. You will create a photomontage that tells a story and demonstrates space by including the same subject (in different positions) in the foreground, middle ground and background. This means you take at least 3 photographs where your subject is in different positions in space. Remember the tips - DO NOT MOVE THE TRIPOD AT ALL, use manual focus to avoid changes in light.
Assignment # 2: In this assignment you will repeat assignment # 1, but add more subjects. Create a photomontage demonstrating the multiplicity technique using at least 6 photographs. You must tell a story and demonstrate space by including subjects in the foreground, middle ground and background. Remember the tips - DO NOT MOVE THE TRIPOD AT ALL, use manual focus to avoid changes in light.
This project must be photographed at home if you would like to earn an A+.
