Warm Up

Swamp Walk
This trail includes a mile long walk in a swamp. This is my favorite local walking trail. It's so relaxing to walk through the swamp on a boardwalk and view the ever changing flora and fauna. This image was taken with a wide angle lens. In Photoshop I added a warm green effect and enhanced sharpness.

The final project is a photographic series of 12 photographs. The photographs must share a common theme and the photos should be new (photos taken specifically for this assignment). Your series will be posted to a new page and you will use a new section for the layout. The two sections above are examples of section layouts you could use.

Theme Ideas
Minimalism
Less is more. Minimalist photographs have no clutter. The composition is stripped down to the bare essentials.
Photography in reflections
Reflections are an excellent source of inspiration for photography.
FLOWERS
You can't go wrong photographing flowers. Create beautiful formal arrangements, find flowers in nature on a walk or isolate individual flowers for a unique portrait.
Looking Down
We, as humans, don't normally walk around looking down. Begin to practice the art of looking down, even in your everyday life when there isn't a camera hanging around your neck. You will be surprised at what awaits you!
Play with Your Food
Treat food as fine art like the master photographer Edward Weston. His black and white photographs of vegetables look like formal portraits.
